Stanley Kubrick is a very artistic film maker and this document will tell you about his great film making.

Stanley Kubrick was a film director who was born in 1928 in the United Kingdom.
He had been hired by Look Magazine as a photographer, his history in photography influenced his film directing.
He worked beyond the confines of the Hollywood film system, maintaining almost artistic control and making movies according to his own whims and time constraints.
His style had stationery camera shots and shots of long wide spaces, as well as long shots...in long movies, he also had themes of sex in some of his films (Lolita and eyes wide shut), as well as war (Dr. Stangelove, Full Metal Jacket, and Paths of Glory).
His films were made from 1953 to 1999 (his death).
His appearance was not well know in the last 40 years of his life, so much so that Alan Conway successfully impersonated him, and he rarely left England due to his fear of flying.
His first film was Fear and desire, the story of a team of soldiers caught behind enemy lines in a fictional war. His next movie was The killer’s kiss, which like his last film was a little known film, but The killing was his first feature length film, The killing is about a day told through multiple gangster’s perspectives, while The Killers kiss is about a welterweight new york boxer in the end of his career and his relationship; with a dancer and her violent employer. His next film was Paths of glory, and Spartacus (Based on the myth of Spartacus, the real life hero), Which inspired many epics, and films about old warfare, including Brave heart. and then Lolita, which was based on the novel, it and the novel are both controversial, the film is about a man who becomes sexually involved with a 14-year-old girl, sounds controversial, huh? He than made Dr strange love, which mocks the cold war and is Kubrick's only comedy, it is funny today, but back then the film was very scary due to the cold war which it parodies.
It might had happen back than, if a hot war started. In fact the book which it is based on was a war thriller, which Kubrick changed to a black comedy. how every tough his film Spartacus became a classic, his next film 2001: A space odyssey, was a masterpiece and amazing for its time, Kubrick work with Arthur Clark on the book and movie, and came up with the title for the book and movie, which was inspirited by homer’s odyssey. The movie is about a group of astronauts as they try to figure out what is the monolith, while trying to survive their computer HAL 9000 from killing them, the film does not start with the plot though, it starts with a scene with a bunch of apes, the film was release a round the same time with the book of the same name it is consider one of the best science fiction films of all time, and Kubrick's most influential.

His next film was A Clockwork orange, before he made this film he worked on a movie about napoleon, which failed. This film was based on the book of the same name, the story is about a teenager who along with his companion “droogs” gleefully torments, beats, robs, tortures, and rapes. for the murder of a women he is but in jail and the government try to cure him. The film was controversial for rape, its dark exploration of violence in human society, as well as the violence its self. the films original rating was x but was later chanted to an r rating in a later release, it is also the ground-breaker of Malcolm McDowell.

He then made Barry Lyndon based on the book “The Luck of Barry Lyndon”, which took place in the 18 century, and tells the exploits of an Irish adventurer. This film spawned from Kubrick's failed “napoleon”, it was not a modest commercial success for its time, and had mix reviews at its release, but today is regarded as one of his best.
He made The shining which is one of the most famous horror films of all time, it is about jack, who takes his family to a overlook, as he is hired for winter caretaker, forever he experience many strange things as he starts to lost his insanity, threatening his family, including his son who has the power of the shining. If you watch it a few times, you might notice that he might be going insane and the place may not be haunted, the place may be be haunted, or both, its never explained fully. Though it is considered one of the best horror films of all time, Stephen king the writer of the original book, did not like it, and that it was not his original intention, and that it did not have the message of anti-drinking.

His next film was Full metal jacket, which was a film about 2 men’s experience in Vietnam, it was unlike others, half of it is not the war, but the boot camp, and the war part has bombed out buildings, instead of jungles. It is also know for R. lee ermey’s performance as an drill instructor, Which was his ground baker, and made him famous, the film is consider one of the best Vietnam films of all time.

his last film was eyes wide shut, which stared tom cruise and his then wife Nicole kidman, the conflict between the wife and husband have to go is oddly like the conflict the actors went through. the movie is about the night long sexually charged adventure of Dr. Bill Harford, who is shocked when his wife, Alice, reveals that she had contemplated an affair a year earlier.
it is unknown if Kubrick liked this film, he said he was very happy with it, but one of the people involved said that he hated it.

Kubrick was one of the most influential directors of all time, inspiring many, including:
Christopher nolan
Steven spielberg
Taylor hackford
Woody alien
Guillermo del toro
David fincher
Ridley scott
David lynch
George A. romero
Martin scorsese
Terry galiman
Quentin tarantino
and many others

With this said
His films will always reflect art forever.

By the way, the reason why some films aren't talked about as much is cause i haven’t seen them...but here's what i think about the ones i have.

The shining is a very suspenseful and strange film and doesn't explain the creepy stuff, its one of my favorite horror films of all time, its suspenseful, scary and mind screwy, its very different from the original book, and is very artistic like 2001.
You don’t know if hes imagining everything or if it is haunted, the ending is the closest thing to a explanation of that, and is the most mind screwy part of the film.
overall its a great horror film.
2001 was very amazing and felt like an odyssey, and it was very artistic and its my favorite film by him. The film can also be interpreted in many way as there might have different interpretations.
I enjoyed Dr.strange-love and laughed at many of the characters and scenes, and thinks its interesting that it was kind of scary during its original release, but is completely different today.
The actors are Nice and Peter seller does a good job at portraying three characters, mostly dr.stangelove and the president, who talk to each other.
Spartacus felt very much like a epic, it is a good vision of the battles of Spartacus, i was surprised at the ending too.
I can see the influence in his films, he is very great at making art through film, i am very Glad that i did this, so thank you Kubrick!

Now here's something interesting about his first film, Fear and desire, he hated the film so much, that he bought all of the prints for it, so no one could see it.

over all this is a salute to Kubrick and he will forever remain a great film maker.
